Bob Anderson

Bob Anderson has supported our Club since 2006. He was one of our 1st Members when we didn’t even have a schedule and nobody even knew who we were. Bob enjoys displaying his old Ford coupe and thrills the Fans when he takes to the track for the National Athem. His stories are legendary and are all about the many Checkered Flags The 8 Ball Coupe has earned.
The Ford Coupe has been in and out of the Anderson Family since the 50’s. The 1st owner was Hal Rynder. Lloyd Caldwell was the driver. This combination with the #72 on it’s doors won 26 Featuures in the Peoria area Dirt tracks. In 1958 Bob & his brother Bugs bought the famous coupe. In the next several Years they took turns driving ,winning races all over the Midwest . In 1964 after Bugs had a heart attack and passed away, Bob lost interest and sold the coupe. In the early 90’s one day the phone rang and it was a gentleman from Middleton Ill. He had the coupe sitting behind his Barn. It had been laying there 20 Yrs. Bob restored it and now he spends his summer traveling. He also has 3 other cars . 3 1926 Model T ‘s 2- 2 man race cars & 1 Hill climb car. He ejoys all 4 cars at all the events he attends.
