#44 Bob Ward

Bob has racing fuel in his veins. He comes from a family with a long history of Short Track Racing. His dad Don was a longtime Championship Car owner around the Northern Illinois dirt tracks. I went to visit Bob in South Carolina on my way home from Daytona and in his driveway was a replica of his Dad’s championship stockcar from the 60’s. All of a sudden I was struck with this idea of building myself a stockcar and going racing. I never built one to race instead my efforts were channeled into forming Illinois Vintage Racing. Bob’s #44 car was the start of it all. He donated his time and ’55 Ford to be displayed during our first year. This #44 car was chosen to be included during the filming of the movie “3” the Dale Earnhart Story. It was featured as a stockcar during a dirt race.
