Bill Stevenson

Bill has been involved in dirt track Auto Racing for over 30 years. He started his driving career in a 1955 Chevy at the Kankakee Fairgrounds. He has also competed in Demolition and Drag Racing events.

In 2006 Bill made Vintage Racing Club history by winning our inaugural Trophy Dash at Fairbury Speedway. He followed that with a memorable first by racing on an asphalt oval at the Grundy County Speedway in 2007. Starting dead last he lived up to his nickname “Wild Bill”. He three wheeled his 1957 Chevy to the checkered flag to a standing ovation from the fans. They were cheering him on as lap after lap he raced with the left front tire a foot off the asphalt.

In 2008 Bill drove flawlessly in the Trophy Dash at Sycamore Speedway and beat the best of the Vintage Champions to score his 1st win at that speedway.

Today Bill owns and operates Stevenson Auto Repair in Kankakee and he splits his racing time between Drag Racing and traveling our Vintage series events.
